![]() A few weeks later I discovered I was having the same problem described in the OP (except, I did it to myself). When you posted this question 6 months ago, in my efforts to reproduce your problem I disabled then later re-enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP in the Advanced TCP/IP Settings of my network adapter. ![]() Just to be clear, again, 192.168.1.2 is address of my computer from which I try to access my own file share and it does not work. Network adapter properties shows that "File and Printer Sharing" is enabled. What else can I check to figure this out? Netstat for 445 port: C:\Users\nrj>netstat -a | findstr /R /C.*445.* Here is how my ipconfig looks like, nothing suspicious. I have turned on both "File and printer sharing" and "network discovery". ![]() I can ping my address ( 192.168.1.2) with no problems. ![]() However, when I try to connect from the very same computer via my local network address (192.168.1.2) it shows the listing of folders but fails to open it. When I try to see shared folder via \\localhost everything works out, I can see the files. I'm stuck a bit in figuring out why can not I access Windows Shared Folder via my local network address even from the very computer that exposes the share. ![]()
